DES MOINES, IOWA - On December 7, 2007, Victor John Scaglione, 47, of Des Moines, Iowa, was sentenced to 16 months in connection with a conviction for making false statements to a Grand Jury, announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. On August 10, 2007, Mr. Scaglione was convicted following a jury trial on a one count indictment of making false statements to a Federal Grand Jury investigating the Central Iowa Employment and Training Consortium (CIETC) fraud case. Mr. Scaglione was convicted for making false declarations regarding accounting for his and other employees’ time and involvement in personal business, including, but not limited to gambling activities while being compensated by CIETC. |
