United States Attorney Joe Stecher and the Tri-Cities Drug Task Force, including: the Nebraska State Patrol, FBI, Grand Island Police Department, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, the Hastings Police Department, the Hall County Attorney’s Office, IRS, the Kearney Police Department, and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, announce the following information for the attention of the media: Event Triggering this Release: On October 25, 2007, the Honorable Richard G. Kopf, United States District Judge, sentenced Corina Trevino to 8 years and 1 month, (a total of 97 months), imprisonment for her conviction on a charge of distribution of methamphetamine. On August 1, 2006, Trevino sold approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine to a subject working with law enforcement for $2,190. This sale occurred at a residence in Grand Island, Nebraska. Judge Kopf also sentenced Trevino to a 5 year term of supervised release and $100 special assessment. He ordered Trevino to pay restitution of $2,190 to the Tri-City Federal Drug Task Force, and to forfeit an Apple Mac laptop that was seized as drug proceeds. Trevino’s sentence was increased substantially because she failed to appear in court for her original sentencing date of May 3, 2007.
