Defendant Found Guilty of Drug Conspiracy

DES MOINES - On August 28, 2007, Dwayne Antonio Fuller, age 27, of Des Moines, Iowa, was convicted, following a jury trial in United States District Court, of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of crack cocaine (cocaine base), announced United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. The charge carries a possible prison sentence of ten years to life, a fine of up to $4,000,000.00, both imprisonment and a fine, at least five years of supervised release following any imprisonment, and a Crime Victim Fund assessment of $100.

Fuller was indicted on June 20, 2006, in a two-count indictment for his role in a criminal conspiracy to distribute cocaine (powder cocaine) and crack (cocaine base). Evidence at trial indicated the defendant was involved in the conspiracy from September 2005, to February 2006. Evidence further indicated the defendant dealt with up to 500 grams of crack (cocaine base) per month, selling it in the vicinity of Des Moines, Iowa.
This case is being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. This case was investigated by the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Laboratory.

This prosecution was handled by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
