United States Attorney Joe W. Stecher and the Tri-Cities Drug Task Force, including the Nebraska State Patrol, FBI, Grand Island Police Department, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, the Hastings Police Department, the Hall County Attorney’s Office, IRS, the Kearney Police Department, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, announce the following information for the attention of the media: Event Triggering this Release: On March 16, 2007, the Honorable Richard G. Kopf sentenced Rosa Adelia-Martinez to ten years imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. Judge Kopf also sentenced Adelia-Martinez to a five year term of supervised release. Adelia-Martinez and her co-defendant, Luis Antonio Dominguez-Flores, distributed at least a pound of methamphetamine in the Grand Island, Nebraska, area between January 1, 2004, and July 24, 2006. On July 24, 2006, law enforcement officers went to Adelia-Martinez’ residence in Grand Island to serve a federal warrant on another subject. While there, the officers found approximately two ounces of methamphetamine, a 12 gauge double-barrel shotgun, drug paraphernalia, and over $3,542 in cash related to drug transactions. In addition to imprisonment, Judge Kopf ordered that Adelia-Martinez forfeit the cash and shotgun. The maximum penalty is not less than 10 years to life imprisonment, a fine of up to $4,000,000, or both such fine and imprisonment, a term of supervised release of at least 5 years, and a $100 special assessment. Count II and III: Forfeiture of property in violation of Title 21, United States Code, section 853, and Title 18, United States Code, Section 924(d).
